Introduction
This Refund Policy governs all transactions and contributions made on the websites of the Sanatan Dharma Accreditation Boards. By making a payment or contribution on our website, you agree to the terms of this policy. We encourage all users to read this document carefully before completing a transaction.
1. General Refund Philosophy
At Sanatan Dharma Accreditation Boards, we operate with a primary focus on social impact, educational development, and the accreditation of Sanatan Dharma institutions. Consequently, the financial transactions conducted on our site are generally treated as contributions or donations rather than purchases of goods or services in the conventional commercial sense .
Given the nature of our work—supporting projects, institutions, and community initiatives—our standard policy is that all contributions are final and non-refundable. Once a payment is processed and cleared by the payment gateway, it is allocated directly to the specific project, operational cost, or initiative for which it was intended. This allocation relies on the finality of the transaction to ensure budgetary stability for our ongoing and future projects .
2. Scope of Services
This policy applies to all types of financial transactions with the Board, including but not limited to:
- Donations to specific projects or general funds.
- Fees for accreditation services.
- Payments for educational resources or workshops.
- Contributions to campaigns hosted on our platform .
3. Exceptions: When a Refund May Be Issued
While our policy is to treat all payments as final, we recognize that specific, rare circumstances may warrant a refund. Refunds are discretionary and will only be considered under the following conditions:
3.1 Project Cancellation by the Board
In the event that a specific project or campaign you contributed to is cancelled by the Organization before the funds have been disbursed to the project owner or utilized for the intended purpose, you may be eligible for a refund .
- Process: We will contact you via the email address associated with your contribution to inform you of the cancellation.
- Information Required: To process a refund, you may be required to provide specific bank account details for an electronic funds transfer.
- Timeline: Once complete and accurate banking information is received, the refund will be processed within 15 working days.
- Deductions: Please note that any refund issued will be net of applicable payment gateway fees, taxes, and transaction charges that were incurred at the time of the original payment. The Organization is not responsible for delays or errors caused by incorrect bank details provided by the contributor .
3.2 Duplicate or Erroneous Payments
If you accidentally make a duplicate payment or enter an incorrect amount due to a technical error on the website, you must contact us within 7 days of the transaction. Refunds for erroneous payments are not guaranteed but will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Proof of error may be required.
3.3 Statutory Rights
The Sanatan Dharma Accreditation Boards is committed to conducting its operations with integrity and in good faith. Accordingly, nothing contained in this Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any statutory rights, guarantees, or remedies that you may possess under the applicable consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction that cannot be lawfully excluded. If you are a consumer, you may have certain mandatory legal rights regarding the quality and fitness of services provided, which this policy does not override.
Limitations Based on Transaction Nature:
However, we draw your attention to the specific nature of transactions conducted on our platform. Contributions, donations, and fees paid for accreditation services are generally treated as voluntary payments to support our non-profit, educational, and social objectives. In many jurisdictions, such contributions are not classified as standard “consumer transactions” for the purchase of goods or services. Consequently, the full suite of consumer protection remedies, including automatic rights of withdrawal or cancellation commonly associated with online retail purchases (sometimes referred to as “cooling-off periods”), may not apply to your transaction.
Acknowledgement and Acceptance:
By completing a payment on our website, you acknowledge that you are making a contribution to support our mission and that you understand the limitations this places on your statutory rights. If you are uncertain about your legal rights or how this policy interacts with local laws, we strongly encourage you to seek independent legal advice before proceeding with your transaction. This provision ensures that both parties enter the transaction with a clear and mutual understanding of their respective positions.
4. Specific Prohibitions on Refunds
Refunds will not be issued under the following circumstances:
- Change of Mind: We do not offer refunds or cancellations simply because you change your mind after a contribution has been made .
- Project Outcomes: Refunds will not be provided if a project you funded does not achieve its intended goal, runs out of funds, or if you disagree with how the project owner manages the project. As a contributor, you agree that you are not purchasing equity or ownership in the project .
- Disputes with Third Parties: The Sanatan Dharma Accreditation Boards acts as a platform to facilitate connections between contributors and projects. We are not liable for, and will not mediate, disputes between campaigners (project owners) and their contributors. We are under no obligation to become involved in disputes regarding the delivery of goods or services promised by a third-party campaigner. In such cases, contributors must resolve disputes directly with the campaigner .
- Service Discontinuation: We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any service (or part thereof) without notice. Fees paid for access to services that are later modified or discontinued are non-refundable .
5. Account and Order Issues
- Order Cancellation by Us: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order or contribution at our sole discretion. This may occur if we suspect fraud, inaccuracies in billing information, or if the transaction violates our Terms of Service. In the event we cancel a transaction, we will attempt to notify you using the contact information provided at the time of the order. If we determine a refund is appropriate in such a case, it will be processed back to the original payment method .
- Inaccurate Information: You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information. Failure to do so may result in the inability to process a refund even if you are otherwise eligible .
6. Refund Process and Timeline
If your situation meets one of the exception criteria outlined in Section 3, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Send a refund request via email to our support team (see contact details below). Include the subject line “Refund Request,” your full name, transaction ID, date of contribution, amount, and a detailed explanation of why you believe a refund is warranted.
- Review: Our team will review your request. Please allow up to 10 business days for a response. Providing proof of payment or error will expedite the process.
- Approval: If approved, we will seek the necessary banking or payment information from you to complete the transfer.
- Processing Time: Refunds will be processed within 15 working days from the date we receive all required and complete information .
- Method: Refunds will typically be issued via electronic bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS) or credited back to the original payment card, depending on the feasibility and the method of the original transaction.
7. Chargebacks
A chargeback, also known as a reversal, is a dispute initiated by a cardholder (you) with your bank or credit card issuer regarding a specific transaction processed on our platform. While we strive to provide transparent services and resolve any concerns amicably, we recognize that chargebacks are a legal right of consumers. However, initiating a chargeback circumvents our internal customer service and dispute resolution process.
Mandatory Pre-Dispute Contact:
We strongly encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your financial institution. In many cases, issues arise from simple misunderstandings, duplicate transactions, or confusion regarding our accreditation processes, which can be resolved quickly and amicably through direct communication. By contacting us first, you allow us the opportunity to investigate the issue, provide clarity, or, if appropriate, process a refund in accordance with Section 3 of this Policy. We consider this a mandatory step of good faith before escalating a dispute to your bank.
Our Right to Defend:
If you initiate a chargeback without giving us the opportunity to resolve the matter internally, you expressly agree that we have the right to defend the transaction. To dispute the chargeback, we may provide your bank or card issuer with documentation proving that the transaction was legitimate, authorized by you, and in full compliance with our Terms of Use and this Refund Policy. Such documentation may include, but is not limited to, your IP address, order confirmation emails, proof of delivery of services, and records of your explicit consent to this Policy at the time of payment.
Consequences of Chargeback:
If a chargeback is filed, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services and your user account immediately and without notice. This is necessary to mitigate future financial risk and to protect the integrity of our platform. Furthermore, if we successfully defend against an unwarranted chargeback, you remain liable for the original transaction amount, and we may pursue recovery of any associated fees, penalties, or administrative costs incurred as a result of the dispute.
8. Amendments to Policy
The Sanatan Dharma Accreditation Boards operates in a dynamic legal, financial, and technological environment. As such, the terms governing our financial transactions must be adaptable to remain compliant with evolving regulations, payment processor requirements, and the operational needs of our organization. Therefore, we expressly reserve the right to update, change, modify, substitute, or replace any part of this Refund Policy at any time, without prior individual notice to you.
Effective Date and Notification:
Any amendments made to this policy will be effective immediately upon posting the revised version on our website. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the most current version of the Refund Policy supersedes all previous versions. While we may, at our discretion, highlight significant changes via email or website announcements, we are under no obligation to provide direct notification of every modification. The “Last Updated” date located at the top of this document will be revised to reflect the most recent changes, serving as your official notice.
User Responsibility:
It is your sole responsibility to review this Refund Policy periodically. Your continued use of our website, submission of applications, or processing of any financial transaction following the posting of changes constitutes your unambiguous acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree with the terms of the updated policy, your sole remedy is to discontinue the use of our payment services and refrain from submitting future contributions or fees.
Grandfathering Clause:
Please be advised that unless specifically stated otherwise in the amended policy, any changes apply retroactively to all existing accounts and transactions. However, if a material change is made that reduces your refund rights regarding a specific transaction, we will endeavor to apply the policy that was in effect at the time your original payment was made, provided that such application does not conflict with legal or regulatory requirements.
